HRM is hiring a temporary, full-time IT Security Analyst in Information Technology.
The role reports to the Manager, Cybersecurity and implements, administers, and maintains security technologies for operational and project initiatives.
The work focuses on network security controls, firewall administration, secure connectivity, identity-related security controls, and technical security configurations.
Security infrastructure and project delivery
- Administer and support firewalls, VPN platforms, proxy services, remote access technologies, web filtering, and related security infrastructure.
- Implement firewall rule changes and security controls for projects, operations, upgrades, and business initiatives; process requests under approved architecture standards.
- Configure network security for on-premises and cloud connectivity and assist with network segmentation and access control.
- Implement approved project security configurations and connectivity requirements in collaboration with networking, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams.
- Translate technical requirements into controls and firewall configurations, implement infrastructure changes, and maintain technical documentation.
Security technology operations
- Perform upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management for security technologies; monitor performance and resolve service issues.
- Test and validate security technologies and configuration changes, recommend improvements, and research emerging technologies.
Education and experience
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- At least five years of experience in information technology security.
- Experience with any combination of PCI DSS, ISO 27001 Maturity Model, SOC 2, and COBIT.
- Experience with IT process risks and controls across governance, security, systems development, change management, and production operations and support, including documenting, evaluating, and testing controls.
- Experience with procurement, contract negotiations, or contract management.
- Experience developing and managing a security awareness program is an asset.
Credentials and professional qualities
- An IT risk and controls designation such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, GIAC, CompTIA Security+, GCED, GCES, or IAAP is listed.

Technical knowledge
- Strong experience administering enterprise firewall environments.
- Experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting IPSec VPN technologies.
- Experience implementing network security policies and secure connectivity solutions.
- Experience with Fortinet products and management platforms.
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, TCP/IP networking, network segmentation, and access control principles.
