Essential Functions

  • Lead IT operational planning and projects, and organize and negotiate allocation of IT resources.
  • Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for technology implementations.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of IT personnel, equipment, and other resources across the organization.
  • Oversee reporting and documentation related to network and systems operations; develop equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct system feasibility studies and testing.
  • Develop and implement functional policies and procedures for network architecture, standards, purchasing, and service provision.

Position Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science or information systems, or equivalent related work experience of 12+ years.
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Extensive application support experience and knowledge of programming languages.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
  • Excellent understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Strong understanding of human resource management and project management principles, practices, and procedures.

General and Administrative Skills

  • Manage deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrades, and support of IT systems, including networks, data centers, servers, PCs, operating systems, and associated hardware.
  • Develop business-case justifications and cost-benefit analyses for IT spending; approve equipment and supply purchases.
  • Analyze operations and recommend improvements to network infrastructure and IT systems; research technologies for procurement and develop requests for proposals.
  • Manage IT hardware, software, and equipment assets, and operations staffing across recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain regular written and in-person communication with executives, department heads, and end users about IT activities.
  • Oversee operations projects and the project portfolio; assist with end-user services, including help desk and technical support.
