IT Infrastructure & Systems Manager

Role overview

Location and work arrangement

• Full-time role based in London with a hybrid working arrangement.
• The description specifies three days at the office in Central London.

Infrastructure and systems

• Administer Windows and Linux servers, VMware vSphere, Veeam backup and recovery, Veeam ONE, VRO, endpoint security and encryption, DLP, SIEM, patching, and Microsoft 365.
• Monitor performance, capacity, availability, and infrastructure health; ensure compliance with governance, security policies, and operational standards.
• Support business-critical applications including Bloomberg FXT, Refinitiv Eikon, Murex Treasury System, SWIFT Alliance Access, 1AML, SIBS, GFMS, and COP.

End-user and network support

• Provide advanced desktop, laptop, printer, iOS mobile-device, branch-office, meeting-room AV, conferencing, and collaboration support.
• Manage OS deployment, imaging, image maintenance, software packaging, Active Directory, Group Policy, user provisioning, and NTFS permissions.
• Configure Cisco switches and routers and FortiGate firewalls; support DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting.

Security, governance, and improvement

• Support vulnerability management, security monitoring and log analysis, SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management, and physical access control systems.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures; produce architecture diagrams, technical documentation, SOPs, and performance reports.
• Identify automation and service improvements and support technology planning, infrastructure modernization, and transformation initiatives.

Qualifications and experience

• 7+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure and systems-administration experience; experience with financial services, banking, trading, or treasury environments.
• Strong IT operations foundation covering infrastructure design, capacity planning, and service management; Windows and/or Linux troubleshooting, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection, access control, and security monitoring.
• Experience managing mission-critical infrastructure and applications in regulated, security-focused environments; ability to support VIP stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Leadership and preferred qualifications

• Project management, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder-management skills are required; team leadership or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
• ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, or cloud certifications are an advantage.

Platforms and tools

• Platforms include Windows 11, Windows Server 2019/2022, Red Hat Linux, VMware vSphere/vCenter, Veeam, Microsoft 365, ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus, and SQL Server.
• Security and network tools include Symantec Endpoint Protection and Encryption, SentinelOne, Tenable, Splunk, Cisco networking, and FortiGate.
• Other listed technologies include Dell PowerEdge, Dell PowerVault SAN, PowerShell, OpenSSL, Syncovery, and SFTP solutions.

Salary

• The stated salary range is £60,000–£65,000; no pay cadence is specified.
