About the role

Provide managed IT support, cloud, communications and cybersecurity services to business customers across the UK.

Combine service desk support with scheduled customer-site work, including cabling, hardware installation, deployment, fault-finding and projects.

When attending sites, prepare for work, complete it safely and professionally, document it and communicate with customers and internal teams.

The posting states work location is in person; scheduled field work is a core part of the role.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle initial customer support contacts and manage tickets in line with SLAs and KPIs.
  • Attend customer sites for fault investigation, hardware replacement, cabling, equipment installation, moves/adds/changes and projects.
  • Install, terminate, patch, label and test cabling; install or replace network and communications equipment and obtain customer sign-off.
  • Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, telephony, printers, business applications and basic networking issues.
  • Prepare devices, accounts and peripherals for onboarding, refreshes and deployments; escalate complex issues with clear notes.
  • Complete role-related technical and safety training and maintain accurate job records and customer updates.

Required qualifications and experience

  • Hands-on structured cabling experience, including Cat5e/Cat6 termination, patching, testing and basic fault-finding.
  • IT support grounding in Windows devices, Microsoft 365, user accounts, peripherals and common hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Basic TCP/IP, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, switching and PoE knowledge; able to distinguish cabling/hardware faults from configuration issues.
  • Comfort using tools, ladders and access equipment and meeting the physical demands of field work.
  • Organised, customer-focused, a clear communicator and able to move between helpdesk and scheduled site work.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable technical skills and qualifications

  • Desirable technical experience includes Cat6A and cable certification testing, fibre installation/termination/splicing, comms cabinets and containment, and hosted or on-premise VoIP.
  • Switch, firewall and Wi-Fi configuration, UniFi or Sophos exposure, Windows Server/Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune/MDM, broadband/router deployments and MSP experience are desirable.
  • ECS/CSCS, IPAF/PASMA, CNCI/CNet, CompTIA or Microsoft certifications are desirable.

Benefits and development

  • The employer describes a varied managed service provider role, ongoing training and certification support, and opportunities to develop into networking, communications, cybersecurity or other technical specialisms.

Pay

  • Pay starts at £26,227.50 per year.
