IST/Switch Application Support Specialist

Role summary

Production support and incident management

• Monitor live payment transactions and maintain platform availability and stability.
• Troubleshoot transaction failures, authorization declines, timeouts, interface errors, and reconciliation discrepancies.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Provide L2/L3 support, shift-based or on-call coverage, and major incident handling.

Switch operations and BAU support

• Perform system health checks, batch monitoring, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Manage HSM operations, cryptographic keys, certificate renewals, and card-scheme updates.
• Maintain ISO 8583 configurations, transaction routing, BIN setups, institution parameters, and stand-in processing.
• Handle service requests, access management, and configuration changes under change-control procedures.
• Maintain support documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Projects and implementations

• Support card product implementations, payment-scheme updates, interface integrations, and switch upgrades or migrations.
• Participate in requirements analysis, technical configuration, SIT/UAT, deployment, and production cutover.
• Coordinate releases, provide post-implementation support, and participate in disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.

Required experience and technical skills

• Hands-on FIS IST/Switch experience in a banking production environment is mandatory; general banking application support or payment testing alone is insufficient.
• Strong understanding of Active-Active architecture and dual-site IST/Switch implementation.
• Knowledge of ISO 8583, EFT processing, authorization, clearing, settlement, and payment networks.
• Hands-on experience with HSM operations, key management, EMV, PCI DSS, and payment security.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux, shell scripting, SQL, and application log analysis.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and problem-solving skills; willingness to support shift-based or on-call arrangements.

Preferred qualifications

• Payment-switch migration, upgrade, and production deployment experience is preferred.
• Exposure to high-availability architecture, disaster recovery, and business continuity is preferred.
• High-volume ATM, POS, or electronic payment support experience is preferred.
• Communication and coordination with business, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams is preferred.

Pay

• Pay is AED 12,000–16,000 per month.
