RATA Level 1 Rope Access Technician – Glass Cleaning & Façade Maintenance
We are seeking a motivated, safety-conscious, and physically fit IRATA Level 1 Rope Access Technician to join our team for high-rise glass cleaning and façade maintenance operations.
The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of an IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Supervisor and will be responsible for carrying out rope access activities in compliance with IRATA International standards, company policies, client requirements, and all applicable safety regulations.
The technician will perform external glass cleaning on high-rise buildings using approved rope access techniques and systems.
Duties include cleaning windows, curtain walls, skylights, glass panels, and other façade elements to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and appearance.
The role requires the use of professional cleaning tools and approved cleaning chemicals to remove dirt, stains, watermarks, bird droppings, and environmental deposits from building surfaces.
The technician will conduct pre-use inspections of all rope access equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and cleaning tools to ensure they are safe and fit for use.
Under the guidance of the IRATA Level 3 Supervisor, the technician will assist in rigging and de-rigging rope access systems, maintain a safe and organized work area, and strictly follow site-specific safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
Any equipment defects, hazards, incidents, or near misses must be reported immediately to the supervisor.
In addition to glass cleaning activities, the technician may support other façade maintenance works as required.
The role includes inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met, maintaining client satisfaction, participating in toolbox talks, safety meetings, rescue drills, and assisting in emergency rescue procedures when directed by the supervising IRATA Level 3 Technician.
Candidates must hold a valid IRATA Level 1 certification and possess a strong understanding of rope access techniques, equipment inspection, hazard identification, and safe working practices at height.
Previous experience in high-rise window cleaning or building maintenance is considered an advantage.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent teamwork, communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship while maintaining the highest standards of safety.
**Reporting Line:** The IRATA Level 1 Rope Access Technician reports directly to the IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Supervisor and works as part of a rope access team in accordance with IRATA International procedures and company requirements.
Preference will be given to candidates currently located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Candidates who are immediately available and residing in Abu Dhabi will be prioritized during the selection process due to operational requirements and project mobilization needs.
