Position Summary VEON is seeking a dynamic, high-drive and experienced Investor Relations Director to be based in Dubai with business travel as and when required. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who is market-facing, deeply analytical and thrives in complex, fast-moving environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in capital markets and corporate finance, ideally from the telco or tech sector, and a proven track record of building and managing analyst relationships. They will possess the gravitas to represent VEON to the financial community and the hunger to proactively shape how the market perceives the business.
Key Responsibilities Investor Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute the company's investor relations strategy, ensuring consistent, transparent and timely communication with current and potential investors.
- Proactively drive the IR agenda, anticipate market needs, initiate engagement and make things happen without waiting to be directed.
- Monitor stock performance, market trends, investor sentiment, and competitor activity to inform and continuously sharpen the company's investor engagement strategy.
- Manage the IR calendar including earnings calls, investor days, roadshows and conferences with a bias toward execution and impact.
Capital Markets & Financial Communication
- Prepare high-quality investor presentations, earnings reports, press releases and key communications in alignment with NASDAQ compliance standards, with a relentless focus on quality and accuracy.
- Translate complex financial data and strategic narratives into compelling, investor-grade materials that shape market perception.
- Leverage AI tools and data analytics to enhance financial analysis, investor targeting and communication effectiveness.
- Monitor consensus earnings and key financial metrics across capital markets databases, ensuring consistency, accuracy and alignment with company disclosures and guidance.
- Ensure alignment with NASDAQ regulations, UAE/GCC market standards and corporate governance best practices.
Analyst & Stakeholder Relationships
- Serve as the primary point of contact for sell-side and buy-side analysts, institutional and retail investors, ratings agencies and other financial stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted analyst relationships, having previously served as the key contact person for analyst coverage.
- Develop a structured, intelligence-led approach to stakeholder mapping and engagement.
- Partner closely with Corporate Communications, Finance, Legal, and senior leadership to ensure consistent, well-coordinated messaging.
IPO & Transactions Support
- Provide IR support for strategic transactions, M&A activity and corporate finance initiatives.
- Where applicable, contribute to IPO readiness or dual-listing processes, drawing on prior IPO experience to navigate investor expectations and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA or CFA designation is a strong advantage.
Experience
- 10+ years in investor relations, corporate finance, or related fields, preferably within a publicly listed company (NASDAQ, UAE/GCC markets preferred).
- Background in the telecommunications or technology sector is highly desirable.
- Experience in corporate finance and M&A is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrable IPO experience is a plus.
- Must have served as a direct point of contact for sell-side analyst relationships.
- Ideally currently based in Dubai or the UAE.
