Investment Associate - Private Equity

Overview

Deal Sourcing & Pipeline Development

• Support origination efforts by identifying priority GP and manager targets across strategies including private equity, venture capital, credit, real assets, infrastructure, and secondaries
• Track industry themes including fundraising environment, secondary pricing, GP balance sheet needs, succession planning, and fee-related earnings dynamics
• Prepare outreach materials and manage interaction cadence with bankers, intermediaries, placement agents, GPs, and institutional LPs
• Maintain pipeline hygiene in CRM systems and produce weekly and monthly pipeline reporting

Investment Evaluation & Due Diligence

• Build and review financial models including cash flows, earnings analysis, valuation, waterfalls, secondary pricing, and sensitivity analysis
• Analyze GP business fundamentals including AUM composition, fee streams, carry potential, fundraising visibility, client concentration, team economics, and operating leverage
• Conduct market mapping and comparable analysis across GP stake transactions, secondaries, and relevant public and private benchmarks
• Coordinate diligence workstreams across commercial, financial, legal, tax, compliance, and operations functions
• Draft and iterate investment memos, investment committee presentations, diligence summaries, and risk assessments

Transaction Execution & Structuring

• Support deal structuring across minority stake investments, preferred equity solutions, stapled secondaries, continuation vehicles, and other partnership constructs
• Assist in negotiating key economic and governance terms including valuation, distribution mechanics, consent rights, information rights, and alignment arrangements
• Work closely with internal and external legal counsel on term sheets and transaction documentation
• Drive timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination through signing and closing

Portfolio & Partnership Management

• Support ongoing monitoring of partnership investments through performance tracking, quarterly reviews, and valuation support
• Evaluate follow-on opportunities including co-investments, continuation solutions, additional stake purchases, and liquidity options
• Contribute to relationship management with partner GPs and internal stakeholders

Skills & Experience

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in GP Stakes investing, LP Secondaries, Special Opportunities/Structured Private Markets, or investment banking with strong buyside execution exposure
• Demonstrated ability to perform advanced financial analysis and modeling with Excel fluency
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to synthesize complexity into clear insights
• High attention to detail and strong project management capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams under time pressure
• Professional maturity and confidence interacting with senior external counterparties including GPs, bankers, lawyers, and advisors
• Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or similarly analytical discipline
