About The Role

We are seeking an Investment Analyst to support the Group's strategic growth, investment activities and capital allocation decisions.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will evaluate mining projects, acquisitions and investment opportunities while providing financial analysis to support key business decisions.

The role combines financial modelling, commercial analysis and market research, with exposure to both existing operations and future growth initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and commercially minded individual looking to develop their career within an international mining and natural resources business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse investment opportunities, acquisitions and strategic partnerships across the mining and natural resources sector.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess project economics, company valuations and expected returns.
  • Conduct commercial, operational and financial due diligence on prospective acquisitions and business opportunities.
  • Support the evaluation of mining assets, exploration projects, development opportunities and capital expenditure proposals.
  • Monitor the financial performance of existing operations and prepare analysis and reports for senior leadership.
  • Conduct market research on commodity markets, industry trends, competitors and macroeconomic developments to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare financial analysis, business cases and presentations to support investment decisions by the executive team.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning across the Group.
  • Work closely with finance, operations and technical teams to assess project performance and identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement.
  • Support corporate development activities, including acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and post-acquisition integration where required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, private equity, investment banking or financial planning and analysis.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation and commercial analysis skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience conducting commercial and financial due diligence.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced international environment.
  • Experience within mining, metals, natural resources, energy or infrastructure would be advantageous but is not essential.
