Role summary

Build the inventory function as production scales toward constellation-rate output; the facility is designed for up to 20 satellites per year and 5 per quarter.
Inventory strategy and policy
- Own inventory strategy for build/flight parts and static test equipment; review, formalize, and standardize existing processes and records.
- Define policies, stock norms, and replenishment rules as build cadence scales to multiple satellites in parallel.
- Set storage and handling standards for flight, engineering-model, and ESD-sensitive stock, including segregation of flight and non-flight hardware.
Inventory system and traceability
- Lead Zoho Enterprise rollout, including item master setup, migration of existing stock and rack records, user training, and floor go-live.
- Establish lot/serial traceability for flight parts and link goods receipts, issues, and returns to the supported build and flight unit.
- Keep system records aligned with physical stock and the Inventory Room material-movement register.
Build and flight inventory
- Oversee receiving, storage, kitting, and issuing of engineering-model and flight parts and ESD-sensitive consumables.
- Deliver kits to labs according to the AIT daily schedule and replenish items as parts are consumed.
- Run daily transaction reconciliation, weekly cycle counts of high-usage items, and monthly physical reconciliation.
- Anticipate shortages and escalate them to the Operations Head and SCM before build schedules are affected.
Static test equipment
- Maintain master records for test-equipment racks across RF/NOVA Lab, ESS Lab, Structures Lab, and cleanrooms, including check-in/check-out logs, audit trail, and calibration status.
- Conduct weekly rack audits with custodians and keep calibration due dates current.
- Own the calibration schedule and flag upcoming due items to the Operations Head so out-of-calibration equipment is not used.
KPIs, audits, and team coordination
- Report inventory accuracy, turnaround, shrinkage, and stock-out incidents to the Operations Head.
- Serve as primary contact for internal and external inventory audits and compliance; resolve discrepancies between the access/material register and stock records.
- Direct the Inventory Associate’s receiving, kitting, reconciliation, and rack-record work, and expand the team as satellite build volume increases.
- Coordinate incoming material planning with SCM/procurement and work with Operations and Maintenance on procurement requests, shipments, and rack custodianship.
- Coordinate with the AIT Lead on parts availability, kitting, and shortages.
Areas of ownership
- Build and flight inventory: policies, stock norms, replenishment, receiving, kitting, issuing, reconciliation, and lot/serial traceability.
- RF/NOVA Lab rack: master record, calibration status, audit trail, and oversight of the rack custodian.
- ESS, Structures, and cleanroom racks: master records, calibration schedule, and weekly audits with lab rack custodians.
- Inventory Room: storage and handling standards and alignment of stock records with the material-movement register.
