Internal Auditor (Banking & Financial Services)

Role

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct risk-based audits of financial, operational, and compliance processes.
• Evaluate controls, risk management, governance, records, reconciliations, transaction documents, and workflows.
• Assess compliance with internal policies, regulations, and control standards; identify weaknesses, gaps, and risks.
• Prepare workpapers, evidence summaries, findings, recommendations, and audit reports.
• Discuss observations, support corrective action plans, track remediation, and verify improvements.
• Maintain confidential audit records and recommend improvements to control design and audit processes.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant audit, risk management, or financial-services experience is preferred.
• Understanding of banking operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and risk-based auditing.
• Familiarity with audit planning, control testing, sampling, and evidence documentation.
• Financial services regulations and compliance frameworks are advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, professional skepticism, communication, report writing, and stakeholder management.
• CIA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate remotely.
