Role overview

Cost planning and quantity surveying

• Prepare high-level project cost estimates during the project sales process.
• Analyze design drawings and perform quantity take-offs to prepare BOQs and determine material quantities.
• Research supplier unit rates and analyze costs for design options on complex projects.
• Lead BOQ development and incorporate comments from relevant design teams.

Tendering and contract work

• Address contractor tender queries about contract conditions and BOQs, and support client negotiations with contractors.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, design teams and specifications engineers on project specifications.
• Prepare contract conditions and tender instructions under FIDIC conditions and consolidate final tender documents.
• Prepare pre-qualification documents and tender instructions, and issue addenda responding to contractor queries.
• Review contractor bids and prepare tender evaluation reports and post-tender clarifications.
• Develop contract documents and conditions of contract after project award.

Project supervision and commercial support

• Assess variations and contractor claims for additional work during supervision.
• Estimate costs for changes in project scope and support sites on contract conditions and commercial issues.
• Review interim payment applications, verify submissions and issue payment certificates on behalf of the client.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying best practices.
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes, and local engineering regulations in the Middle East.
• At least five years of experience in the UAE.
• Good communication skills.

Workplace and employment

• Full-time, permanent role with work performed in person.
