Intern - Software Engineer (Summer 2027)

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing GUI-based applications and test programs.
• Support application and software library development for Windows, Linux, and embedded operating systems.
• Test and debug software that interfaces with hardware devices.
• Integrate software with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, meters, and other test equipment.
• Document software features, test results, and development processes.
• Apply coding standards, design practices, and version control tools.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related program.
• Understanding of procedural and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Familiarity with C, C++, Python, and TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take initiative and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a U.S. Person and able to provide documentation verifying this status upon hire; some positions require U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Skills

• Coursework, projects, or prior experience with embedded software development.
• Exposure to GUI programming and TCP/UDP Ethernet programming.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and hardware/software integration techniques.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Self-motivated with curiosity and desire to learn new technologies.

Schedule

• The schedule is Monday through Friday on the day shift.
• A discretionary 9/80 schedule is available.
• Summer internships have full-time schedules and are expected to start in late May or early June.

Compensation

• Internship salary is based on position and academic year standing.
• The salary range is $17.50 to $27.00 per hour.
