Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) is a non-profit charity organization registered with the UAE Ministry of Social Affairs and has been supporting cancer patients since 1999.
Established under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, FOCP is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by cancer.
The organization provides support to patients and their families throughout the cancer care journey, regardless of nationality, gender, age, religion, or ethnicity.
FOCP focuses on awareness, prevention, and companionship, and collaborates with local and international partners to advance cancer support initiatives across the UAE.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site intern role based in Sharjah.
The intern will support daily operations by assisting with administrative tasks, data entry, documentation, and coordination of activities and events.
Responsibilities
may include helping organize awareness campaigns, supporting community initiatives, and communicating with internal teams and external stakeholders under supervision.
The intern will assist in preparing reports, presentations, and basic research to support program planning and evaluation.
The role offers an opportunity to gain experience in the non-profit and healthcare support sector while contributing to the mission of supporting cancer patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and empathetically with diverse communities.
- Basic organizational and administrative skills, including time management, document handling, and attention to detail.
- Comfort with using common office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations) and willingness to learn new tools as needed.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow guidance from supervisors and mentors.
- Interest in non-profit work, community service, or healthcare-related initiatives; prior volunteer or internship experience is an advantage.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant field of study (such as social sciences, public health, communications, or business) is preferred but not required.
- Professional fluency in English &Arabic, additional language skills are an asset.
- Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and commitment to FOCP’s mission of supporting cancer patients and their families.
