Position title

Your role at Sephora...

• As the Intern, AI Analyst-Merchandising , you will help accelerate AI-driven decision-making across Merchandising. This role will partner with Merchandising, Planning, Supply Chain, and Data teams to leverage AI, analytics, and automation to improve assortment decisions, promotional effectiveness, vendor management, inventory performance, and customer experience.
• Analyze merchandising, sales, inventory, and customer data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Assist in developing AI use cases related to assortment optimization, new product launches, pricing, promotions, and vendor management. Leverage Generative AI to automate research, business analysis, and reporting processes.
• Support the development of AI-powered insights and decision-support tools for merchants and planners.
• Present the project outcome, evidence, lessons learned, and recommended next steps at the internship culmination.

• Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations to monitor category and brand performance.

Qualifications & experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Foundational programming or scripting experience in Python, Java, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, or a comparable language.
• Basic understanding of Linux, networking, APIs, Git, cloud computing, containers, or CI/CD concepts through coursework, projects, or prior experience.
• Ability to break down problems, learn unfamiliar technology, document work clearly, and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Interest in AI infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, SRE, developer experience, or distributed systems.
• Exposure to one or more cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code or CI/CD tools, containers, observability concepts, secure software development, or AI/ML platform technologies.

Eligibility requirements

• Graduating in 2027 or 2028 (undergraduate or graduate degree)
• Work schedule must align with 9-5PM, Pacific Standard Time
• Must permanently reside and work in the U.S.
• Must be open to relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area upon graduation for consideration for full-time hybrid positions*
• Available from June 14 - August 20, 2027

• The target hourly pay for this position is $30.00 - $30.00. The actual hourly pay offered depends on various factors, which may include, as applicable, the individual applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
