Technology stack

• Backend technologies include Ruby, Rails, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and CouchDB.
• Frontend technologies include React Native, React, and JavaScript; cloud platform is AWS.
• Tools include GitHub and Sidekiq.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain backend services, writing testable, documented code that handles edge cases.
• Identify security implications, write automated tests, and participate in code review.
• Architect scalable and reliable services, anticipate future needs, and reduce technical debt through legacy-code refactoring.
• Integrate with POS devices, mobile apps, and third-party payment and reporting services.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production, including high-traffic event windows; improve performance, reliability, and code quality.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver work based on requirements.

What you bring

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including 3 years with Ruby on Rails.
• Solid API and SQL knowledge, including PostgreSQL or MySQL; comfort with GitHub and AWS; working JavaScript knowledge.
• Practical AI development knowledge covering technology evaluation, reliable agent configuration, and responsible software lifecycle integration.
• Clear written communication and effective distributed-team work habits.

Nice to have

• React or React Native experience; Docker and a major cloud provider such as AWS or GCP.
• Payments, POS, e-commerce, or ticketing experience, and familiarity with PCI or SOC 2 practices.
