Role Description

The Interior Designer & Furniture Coordinator is responsible for managing interior design activities alongside furniture planning, procurement, and coordination.

The role ensures alignment between design standards, project requirements, vendor deliverables, and project timelines—from concept development through to execution and project closeout.

Furniture Planning & Coordination

  • Review layout drawings to ensure compliance with approved furniture standards.
  • Obtain and evaluate furniture proposals from vendors based on approved layouts.
  • Ensure all furniture proposals meet project specifications, standards, and design intent.
  • Coordinate submission of approved proposals for internal system processing.
  • Follow up on purchase order (PO) issuance with relevant stakeholders.
  • Review issued POs to confirm completeness and alignment with project requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure timely furniture requests for all active projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers (PMs) to confirm delivery schedules.
  • Track furniture delivery progress and report completion status with photographic evidence.
  • Identify and report any missing items or discrepancies to the PM.
  • Prepare and submit weekly furniture progress reports in the approved format.
  • Conduct vendor performance evaluations upon project completion.
  • Manage vendor invoices, warranty documentation, and post-project enhancements.
  • Maintain organized documentation and archiving for all furniture-related projects.
  • Support design teams by providing standard furniture CAD files.

Design & Project Execution

  • Define client design objectives and translate them into functional design concepts.
  • Develop design concepts, layouts, and mood boards.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings using relevant software tools (2D & 3D).
  • Select materials, finishes, and products in line with design intent and budget.
  • Estimate project costs and contribute to budgeting processes.
  • Establish project timelines and ensure adherence throughout execution.
  • Execute design projects from concept through completion.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure design compliance and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Architectural & Technical Support

  • Prepare architectural design proposals based on project requirements.
  • Review and optimize design solutions in coordination with management.
  • Oversee and guide design teams in preparing drawings and documentation.
  • Utilize design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) to produce accurate drawings and renderings.
  • Update designs based on feedback from management and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate site conditions and constraints prior to design finalization.
  • Maintain all architectural and construction-related documentation.
  • Provide regular project status updates to management.
  • Ensure timely execution of all assigned design tasks.
  • Modify designs to accommodate operational or client-specific requirements.
  • Conduct meetings with contractors to clarify drawings and material specifications.
  • Support clients in reviewing and approving material samples.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in architecture, interior design, furniture coordination, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in furniture planning, procurement, and vendor coordination.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design capabilities.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, 3ds Max, SketchUp, etc.).
  • Experience with computational design tools is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Strong presentation and visualization skills.
  • Very good command of English and Arabic is required.
  • Knowledge of a third language is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based working environments.
  • Commercial awareness or sales-oriented mindset is a plus.
