Role overview

Interface planning and design coordination

• Develop and implement the Project Interface Management Plan, procedures, protocols, governance frameworks, interface registers, and matrices.
• Identify and resolve interfaces throughout the project lifecycle and facilitate stakeholder communication.
• Coordinate engineering, design, construction, and project controls teams; review deliverables for risks and conflicts.
• Run multidisciplinary design workshops, track design changes, and resolve clashes across infrastructure disciplines.

Utilities, traffic, and construction

• Monitor utility relocation and protection and integrate utility interfaces into schedules and construction plans.
• Coordinate traffic diversions, road closures, lane shifts, construction staging, and live-road interfaces with transportation authorities.
• Coordinate contractor sequencing and access, monitor construction interfaces, and support construction planning and work-front management.

Risk, handover, and reporting

• Maintain interface risk registers and mitigation plans, escalate critical risks, and track corrective actions to closure.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, asset readiness, handover, and operational integration with operations and maintenance teams.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports, track KPIs, update project management, and support audits and compliance reviews.

Safety and environmental compliance

• Align interface activities with project HSE requirements and promote safe coordination between contractors and stakeholders.
• Monitor interface risks affecting site safety and support environmental compliance, sustainability objectives, and safety reviews.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 12–15 years of major infrastructure and transportation project experience, including at least 7 years in interface management, project coordination, or design-construction integration.
• Extensive experience managing interfaces on large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• A master’s degree in a related project or engineering management discipline is preferred.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is highly desirable; professional engineering institution membership is advantageous.
• Saudi Arabia or GCC project experience is highly desirable; experience with clients, authorities, PMCs, consultants, or major contractors is preferred.
