Overview
The Insurance Business Development Director is responsible for driving the growth and strategic expansion of Estithmar Capital’s insurance portfolio.
This role focuses on identifying investment opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and developing innovative insurance solutions across traditional and digital channels.
The position plays a critical role in aligning insurance initiatives with the firm’s broader investment strategy, ensuring sustainable growth, profitability, and market positioning across regional and international markets.
1. Portfolio Management
- Oversee and manage the firm’s insurance investments, partnerships, and ventures.
- Monitor financial and operational performance of insurance-related assets.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance portfolio value, profitability, and scalability.
- Prepare performance reports and insights for senior management and shareholders.
2. Business Development & Investments
- Identify and evaluate new opportunities across:
- Insurance companies
- Insurtech platforms
- Brokerage firms
- Strategic distribution partnerships
- Lead end-to-end deal execution including sourcing, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- Develop new revenue streams and scalable insurance business models.
3. Strategic Partnerships
- Build and manage relationships with:
- Insurance and reinsurance companies
- Brokers and intermediaries
- Financial institutions and banks
- Structure and negotiate distribution agreements, joint ventures, and alliances.
- Represent Estithmar Capital in key industry engagements and forums.
4. Market & Industry Analysis
- Conduct in-depth research on regional and global insurance markets.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities such as:
- Digital insurance / Insurtech
- Bancassurance
- Embedded insurance
- Health and life insurance segments
- Provide strategic insights to support investment decisions.
5. Product Development & Distribution
- Collaborate with partners to design and launch innovative insurance products.
- Develop multi-channel distribution strategies including:
- Corporate partnerships
- Digital platforms
- Financial services ecosystems
- Drive go-to-market strategies for new insurance offerings.
6. Regulatory & Compliance Coordination
- Ensure all insurance-related activities comply with applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and supervisory authorities where required.
- Monitor regulatory developments impacting insurance and financial services sectors.
7. Financial & Investment Analysis
- Conduct financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence for insurance investments.
- Assess profitability, capital requirements, and associated risks.
- Support investment committees with data-driven recommendations and insights.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum
- 12–15 years of experience
- in insurance, financial services, or investment management.
- Strong exposure to:
- Insurance business development
- Investment structuring and partnerships
- Insurtech / digital insurance ecosystems
- Experience within
- investment firms, insurance groups, or financial institutions
- is highly preferred.
- Regional (GCC) market experience is an advantage.
