Role Description
This is a part-time, hybrid Instrumentation Manager role based in Dubai, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements.
The Instrumentation Manager will oversee the selection, installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems used in marine, oil, and gas operations.
Day-to-day tasks include planning and supervising instrumentation projects, reviewing technical specifications and drawings, and coordinating with engineers, technicians, and vendors to ensure system reliability and compliance.
The role involves troubleshooting instrumentation issues, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring adherence to safety, regulatory, and client standards.
The Instrumentation Manager will also prepare technical documentation, contribute to budgeting and resource planning, and provide technical guidance to project and site teams.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, PLCs, and related marine, oil, and gas applications.
- Experience in planning, supervising, and executing instrumentation projects, from design review through commissioning and handover.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis for instrumentation and control system faults.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures in marine and oil & gas environments.
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and vendors, and to manage priorities across multiple sites.
- Strong documentation skills for technical reports, maintenance records, calibration logs, and project documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Previous experience in marine services, offshore operations, or oil & gas projects is highly advantageous.
- Effective communication skills in English and the ability to work in a multicultural, safety-focused environment.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and vessels within the region as required by project needs.
