Instrument Technician

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate technicians performing preventive and breakdown maintenance safely and effectively.
• Execute weekly and monthly plans and submit progress reports.
• Provide onsite maintenance and repairs on instruments and related equipment, including generators, transformers, and motors, following standards, safety procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and contract terms.
• Coordinate day-to-day plant instrument maintenance and act as focal point for the daily execution plan.
• Visit sites to check work execution and technicians’ routine maintenance activities.
• Track work against plans, report progress to the Instrument Foreman, and prepare completion reports.
• Recommend equipment modifications and enhancements to improve system suitability and serviceability.

Qualifications

• Diploma and at least seven years of oil and gas maintenance experience.
• Strong technical understanding of oil and gas facilities maintenance management.
• Strong knowledge of instrument maintenance and repair, equipment design and installation, and mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of applicable standards, procedures, and regulations for health, safety, and environmental protection.
• Good spoken and written English; strong communication, people, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to travel internationally and live in KSA; ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Work setting

• Work includes onsite maintenance and frequent site visits in the assigned area.
