Instrument Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end utilities, crane, and instrumentation operations and maintenance, ensuring safe and reliable performance of critical plant systems.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, OSHA, and statutory regulations through permit-to-work systems, lockout-tagout procedures, and isolation controls.
• Allocate operators, maintenance personnel, field attendants, and contractors based on operational priorities, production demands, competence, and risk assessments.
• Supervise the safe execution of work by verifying isolations, energy-release controls, barricading, certifications, and adherence to approved procedures.
• Monitor equipment parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow, fuel consumption, and water quality, adjusting operations proactively to prevent trips and sustain production.
• Balance utilities capacity against production plans by coordinating minor outages, preventive maintenance, and load adjustments.
• Lead first-line troubleshooting of utilities, crane, and instrumentation abnormalities, guiding diagnostics and escalating complex failures as needed.
• Ensure utility operators and the crane and instrumentation maintenance team are trained and compliant with safety standards.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for utilities, crane, and instrumentation systems, ensuring work orders are properly created, executed, documented, and closed within SAP.
• Track shift-level performance indicators including availability, forced trips, energy intensity, water consumption, and operational cost, initiating corrective actions.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, toolbox talks, and utilities-area audits to identify hazards and reinforce a culture of safety.
• Maintain accurate operational and maintenance logs, inspection records, compliance documentation, and maintenance reports.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to align utilities supply and maintenance activities with manufacturing schedules.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance for utilities, crane, and instrumentation systems, including combustion tuning, compressor control optimization, and crane performance troubleshooting.
• Drive continuous improvement and energy optimization initiatives within utilities operations by identifying consumption trends and standardizing best practices.
• Train and guide junior utilities operators and contract personnel on operating practices, safety requirements, and emergency response procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.
