The School of Computer Science, at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, seeks to appoint for the September 2026 semester dynamic and talented academics with expertise in one or many of the following areas: System Security, Cyber Security, AI for Cybersecurity, Network Security.

The School of Computer Science aims at producing innovative, well-rounded, hands-on professionals that are well versed in technological and computing concepts and skills. The school offers 7 programs under the umbrella of computer science and IT. Those programs are designed to be practical and focused on industry needed skills in popular areas of computer science and IT, including: Software development, Cyber Security, Big data and AI, Gaming and mobile development, Business information systems, IT management, and digital transformation.

Requirements & Responsibilities

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) invites applications for Instructor positions in Cybersecurity within the School of Computing.

These are teaching‑intensive roles created in response to strong growth in student enrolments across the Computer Science and Cybersecurity majors. The successful candidates will contribute to high‑quality undergraduate teaching and play an important role in preparing students for contemporary cybersecurity challenges through applied, practice‑informed education.

This role is well suited to early‑career academics or industry‑informed educators who are passionate about teaching, applied AI, and student‑centred learning.

Teaching Responsibilities

The Instructor will deliver undergraduate teaching in areas such as:

• System Security
• Cyber Security
• Network Security
• Ethical Hacking
• AI for Cybersecurity
• Core Computer Science subjects including programming, databases, systems analysis, and software development methodologies

Teaching duties include preparing and delivering lectures and tutorials, assessing student work, providing academic support, and contributing to continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.

Qualifications & Experience

You are a capable and enthusiastic academic with strong discipline knowledge in Computer Science and Cybersecurity, combined with a commitment to effective and engaging teaching.

Essential requirements:

• Master's degree in Computer Science (minimum qualification for Level A)
• At least 3 years' full‑time teaching experience in higher education
• Hands‑on experience with modern cybersecurity tools, platforms, or technologies
• Strong foundational knowledge across core Computer Science disciplines
• Demonstrated ability to teach and manage undergraduate classes effectively
• Ability to apply interactive and contemporary teaching approaches

Desirable attributes:

• Teaching experience in the GCC region
• Industry or professional experience in IT, technology, or advanced cybersecurity systems
• Emerging or established research activity in modern cybersecurity

Research & Scholarly Activity

While this is a teaching‑intensive role, candidates with a demonstrated or emerging research track record in Cybersecurity are encouraged to apply. Opportunities exist to engage in scholarly activity and research collaboration in line with UOWD's academic priorities.
