Inspector - Wet Utilities

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Inspect wet utility construction, including stormwater, sewerage, potable water, irrigation, and associated networks.
• Conduct daily site inspections against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.
• Inspect stormwater pipelines, manholes, catch basins, gullies, drainage structures, and associated works; inspect other utility pipelines and structures as required.
• Review contractor Inspection Requests and confirm works are ready for inspection.
• Monitor material quality, workmanship, installation, bedding, backfilling, compaction, and network protection.
• Witness pressure, leakage, CCTV, and other applicable tests; verify line, level, alignment, slopes, and invert levels.
• Check works against shop drawings and specifications; identify defects and coordinate corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor quality compliance and coordinate setting out and levels with surveyors and other disciplines.
• Maintain inspection and quality records, participate in meetings, support progress monitoring, and ensure site HSE requirements are followed.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant wet utilities and infrastructure construction experience, with strong stormwater experience.
• Knowledge of stormwater, sewerage, potable water, and irrigation networks.
• Experience inspecting pipelines, manholes, drainage structures, and related infrastructure.
• Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and inspection procedures.
• Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• UAE infrastructure and Authority experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.

Work location

• The role is designated on-site.
• New employees must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.
