Role overview

Inspection duties

• Inspect MV/LV electrical ducts, telecom ducts, street-lighting ducts, cable routes, duct banks, chambers, manholes, handholes, and utility crossings.
• Check duct alignment, levels, depth, spacing, and clearances; verify cables, conduits, sleeves, tapes, and protection systems.
• Check separation from other services and inspect concrete encasement, reinforcement, formwork, and duct-bank construction.
• Verify materials against approved MIRs and witness mandrel, rope, continuity, insulation, and other applicable tests.
• Coordinate with electrical, telecom, wet utilities, road, and civil works teams; verify utility coordinates and levels with survey teams.
• Review and approve WIRs, monitor method statements and ITPs, and raise site observations or NCRs for defective or non-compliant work.
• Inspect utility interfaces, monitor protection of completed works, and verify as-built information against site installation.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, test reports, and quality documentation; support testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.
