Job Purpose
The Information Security Officer supports the organization’s IT environment by assisting in security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability checks, while also handling general IT support tasks.
The role ensures smooth daily operations and contributes to maintaining a secure and reliable IT infrastructure.
Principal Accountabilities
- Monitor security alerts, events, and logs to detect potential threats.
- Assist in responding to and documenting IT security incidents.
- Conduct basic vulnerability assessments and support risk identification.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus).
- Responsible for the generation, issuance, and secure maintenance of security-related digital certificates, including private and public cryptographic keys, in accordance with organizational security standards or as mandated by UAECB/AEP guidelines.
- Monitor the operational status and security of IT hardware and systems.
- Assist in security audits, compliance checks, and related documentation.
- Liaise with external IT vendors and contractors for services and support.
- Provide day-to-day IT support for users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Participate in IT-related projects and coordinate with internal stakeholders as needed.
- Perform general IT tasks as assigned under business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 0 – 1 years of experience in IT support, information security, or IT infrastructure roles.
Skills
- Understanding of fundamental IT and cybersecurity concepts.
- Familiar with endpoint security, network basics, and Windows administration.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of documenting processes clearly.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills across both IT support and security domains.
- Ability to manage tasks in coordination with various stakeholders.
