About This Role
The Industrial Painter prepares surfaces and applies protective coatings to aircraft refueling vehicles and pressure vessels, ensuring durable, high-quality finishes compliant with aviation and industrial standards.
Role Responsibilities:
Surface preparation: Cleaning, scraping, sanding, and stripping surfaces to remove old paint, rust, or other contaminants.
Coating application: Applying paint, varnish, and other finishes using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or automated equipment. This includes applying primer and other coatings according to specifications.
Paint mixing and color matching: Mixing paints to achieve the required colors and specifications, sometimes using automated or manual mixing equipment.
Equipment maintenance: Cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting painting tools, spray guns, and other equipment.
Safety compliance: Adhering to strict safety procedures, using personal protective equipment (PPE) like respirators and safety glasses, and properly handling and disposing of hazardous waste.
Quality control: Ensuring a high-quality finish by using tools like viscosity cups and thickness gauges, and performing touch-ups as needed.
