Industrial Hygiene Coordinator – Oil & Gas (Qatar)
**Position Title:** Industrial Hygiene Coordinator
**Department:** SHES / HSE / Operations / Projects
**Industry:** Oil & Gas
**Reports To:** SHES Manager / HSE Manager / Project Manager
Role Overview
The Industrial Hygiene Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and implementing industrial hygiene programs across Oil & Gas project sites.
The role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace health hazards such as chemical, physical, and biological exposures.
The coordinator will work closely with SHES teams, operations, and contractors to ensure compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and best industry practices, promoting a healthy and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement industrial hygiene programs in accordance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, assess, and monitor occupational health hazards including noise, dust, chemicals, ergonomics, heat stress, and vibration.
- Plan and coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring activities such as air, noise, and exposure assessments.
- Ensure proper implementation of control measures and recommend corrective actions to reduce occupational health risks.
- Maintain accurate records of monitoring results, exposure data, and control measures.
- Liaise with site teams, SHES personnel, contractors, and third‑party service providers for industrial hygiene activities.
- Support health risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and SHES risk registers.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly industrial hygiene reports and exposure trend analysis.
- Assist during internal, client, and regulatory audits and inspections related to occupational health.
- Support incident investigations related to occupational health exposures and illnesses.
- Promote occupational health awareness through training sessions, toolbox talks, and campaign initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health standards and international guidelines.
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, SHES, or a related discipline (preferred).
- **NVQ Level 5 in SHES / Occupational Health & Safety**, **Postgraduate Diploma**, or **Postgraduate Degree in SHES, Occupational Health, or Safety Management** will be a **strong advantage**.
Experience
- Minimum **10 years of experience** in industrial hygiene, occupational health, or SHES roles within the **Oil & Gas or construction sector** (Qatar/GCC experience preferred).
Certifications
- NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent SHES certification (required or strong advantage).
- Industrial hygiene or occupational health training/certification (preferred).
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of industrial hygiene principles and occupational health risk assessments.
- Familiarity with exposure monitoring methods, control strategies, and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of client standards, regulatory requirements, and international best practices.
- Good analytical, coordination, and reporting skills.
