Indirect Tax Manager

About This Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage end-to-end VAT engagements, including advisory, compliance, and representation before the Federal Tax Authority (FTA)
• Provide strategic VAT guidance to clients on complex business transactions and cross-border matters
• Review and approve VAT returns, voluntary disclosures, reconsideration requests, and related submissions
• Interpret VAT legislation, executive regulations, and FTA publications to deliver actionable client insights
• Oversee VAT impact assessments, risk reviews, and compliance health checks to identify process improvement areas
• Drive the development and implementation of indirect tax strategies and ensure alignment with clients’ business goals
• Prepare and review technical VAT memoranda, client presentations, and advisory documentation
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and maintaining long-term client relationships
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Tax, and Advisory teams to support holistic client solutions
• Represent clients during FTA audits, clarifications, and other formal interactions
• Coach, mentor, and lead junior professionals to support skill development and team performance
• Contribute to business development activities including proposal preparation, client pitches, and market insights

Desired Candidate Profile:

• 5–8 years of VAT/indirect tax experience, preferably in a consulting or Big 4 environment
• Strong technical knowledge of UAE VAT laws, regulations, and practices
• Demonstrated experience in managing client engagements and leading project teams
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
• Proven ability to build client relationships and manage stakeholders at all levels
• Experience in dealing with the FTA is preferred
