Role Description

The Inclusion Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based at the GIIS campus in Abu Dhabi.

The role involves planning and delivering differentiated instruction to support learners with diverse educational needs within mainstream classrooms and small-group settings.

The Inclusion Teacher collaborates closely with class teachers, school counselors, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted intervention strategies.

Daily responsibilities include conducting assessments, monitoring progress, maintaining documentation, and adapting materials to align with school curricula and inclusive education best practices.

The Inclusion Teacher also contributes to professional development initiatives, promotes inclusive classroom practices, and supports a positive, safe, and respectful school culture for all learners.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in differentiated instruction, curriculum adaptation, and individualized education planning for diverse learning needs.
  • Experience in student assessment, progress monitoring, and documentation, including developing and reviewing IEPs or similar intervention plans.
  • Strong classroom management, behavior support, and positive reinforcement techniques that foster an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, teachers, and multidisciplinary support teams.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education policies, special education best practices, and relevant educational frameworks or standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching qualification/license recognized in relevant jurisdictions; previous experience as an Inclusion or Special Education Teacher is highly beneficial.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work in a multilingual, multicultural international school setting.
  • Competence with educational technology and learning support tools for differentiation and accessibility.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice in inclusive and holistic education.
