Imported Meat Trade Business Development Specialist

(Alternative Titles: Meat Supplier & Importer Relations Manager / Meat Trade Business Development Officer)

Job Purpose

To develop the company's business network within the imported meat sector by identifying and engaging importers, wholesalers, and distributors across the United Arab Emirates, while connecting them with exporters, slaughterhouses, and meat producers worldwide.

The role aims to increase sales volumes, secure new commercial agreements, and achieve the company’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Continuously identify meat importers, traders, wholesalers, and distributors within the UAE and maintain a comprehensive database.

2.

Establish and develop relationships with international suppliers, slaughterhouses, and meat exporting companies, while sourcing new suppliers.

3.

Coordinate and arrange meetings between local importers and international exporters.

4.

Analyze the UAE market demand for fresh, chilled, and frozen meat products.

5.

Conduct preliminary commercial negotiations regarding pricing, quantities, and supply terms between parties.

6.

Monitor import and export procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.

7.

Follow up on Halal certifications, veterinary certificates, health certificates, and other required documentation.

8.

Prepare periodic market intelligence reports on suppliers, customers, and business opportunities.

9.

Attend exhibitions, conferences, and trade events related to the meat and food industry.

10.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, suppliers, and business partners.

11.

Monitor contract execution and commercial transactions to ensure customer and supplier satisfaction.

12.

Achieve sales and commercial targets established by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in food trading, meat trading, or import/export operations is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in meat trading, food trading, international business development, or related fields.
  • Experience dealing with international suppliers and exporters.
  • Strong knowledge of the UAE and GCC meat markets.

Required Skills

  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and business networking abilities.
  • Ability to identify and develop new market opportunities.
  • Proficiency in preparing business reports and commercial presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to travel and attend international meetings, exhibitions, and trade events.
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures and supply chain operations.
  • Understanding of Halal certification requirements and health regulations governing meat products.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of new importer clients acquired.
  • Number of new suppliers and exporters contracted.
  • Total value of concluded deals and contracts.
  • Sales revenue generated from new clients.
  • Customer and supplier satisfaction levels.
  • Number of business meetings and commercial visits conducted monthly.
  • Scope of Work:
  • UAE and GCC markets.
  • Coordination and communication with exporters, slaughterhouses, and meat production companies in South America, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Africa, Europe, and other major meat-exporting countries.

Position Overview

This role focuses primarily on the commercial development aspect of connecting importers within the UAE with international exporters, rather than functioning as a traditional sales position.

It is particularly suitable for meat trading companies, Halal certification organizations, and import-export businesses.

Compliance with food safety regulations and import requirements forms an essential part of the role.
