Role purpose
Deliver Integrated Logistic Support across Rheinmetall's in-service product portfolio so systems remain supportable, available, and cost-effective to maintain.
The role emphasises supportability engineering and owns a common DRACAS/FRACAS process that connects failure evidence to corrective action, spares, maintenance, and documentation decisions across supported products.
Supportability engineering and DRACAS/FRACAS
- Design, implement, and own DRACAS/FRACAS data capture, triage, root cause analysis coordination, corrective action tracking, and closure.
- Chair or support failure review boards with engineering, quality, and supply chain stakeholders.
- Maintain the DRACAS/FRACAS database or tool, ensuring data quality, consistency, and traceability.
- Produce MTBF, MTTR, and failure-rate metrics and trend analysis for internal and customer reporting.
- Use failure findings to prioritise action across ILS disciplines.
Maintenance planning and support analysis
- Develop and maintain preventive and corrective maintenance plans, tasks, and intervals based on in-service performance and failure data.
- Conduct or support Logistic Support Analysis and Level of Repair Analysis.
- Review and update maintenance task analysis as failure trends or design changes emerge.
Spares and reliability
- Own spares provisioning and re-provisioning decisions, using failure data and reliability modelling to set stock levels against availability targets.
- Monitor spares consumption against forecasts and adjust holdings as in-service experience matures.
- Liaise with supply chain on lead times, obsolescence risk, and reorder points for critical spares.
- Develop reliability and availability models using DRACAS data and periodically re-baseline MTBF/MTTR and failure-rate inputs.
Configuration and stakeholder engagement
- Ensure corrective actions, design changes, and documentation updates arising from DRACAS or ILS work are configuration-controlled.
- Serve as the primary internal contact for in-service support, reliability, and corrective action status queries.
- Represent support in engineering change boards, design reviews, and contract review meetings as required.
Essential experience and skills
- Experience in an ILS, supportability, or in-service support engineering role in a regulated or defence environment.
- Working knowledge of DRACAS/FRACAS principles and closed-loop corrective action processes.
- Practical experience across at least two other core ILS disciplines, such as maintenance planning, spares provisioning, technical publications, or obsolescence management.
- Comfort with structured datasets and reliability metrics using Excel, databases, or dedicated ILS/reliability tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder management across engineering, supply chain, and customer interfaces.
Desirable qualifications and experience
- Familiarity with MTBF, Weibull analysis, FMEA/FMECA, or other reliability engineering concepts.
- Experience with FRACAS/RAM tools such as FavoWeb, RAM Commander, OPUS10, RELEX/Windchill Quality, or similar.
- Knowledge of configuration management and technical publication amendment processes.
- Relevant engineering, reliability, or ILS/supportability qualification, such as IET, CQI, or equivalent.
- Security clearance eligibility.
Key relationships and success
Key relationships include the Support Business Manager, design and engineering authority, supply chain/procurement, technical publications, and customer support and reliability representatives.
Success includes a functioning DRACAS/FRACAS process that drives decisions, and spares, maintenance plans, and documentation kept current with in-service failure experience.
The provided description ends mid-sentence after the success criteria begin.
Employment
- Schedule type is Full Time; contract type is Permanent Full-Time.
