About This Role
Job Description
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality ICT lessons that align with the British National Curriculum for FS and Key Stage1.
- Teach digital literacy, computer science, and information technology in a fun, age-appropriate way.
- Integrate ICT across the wider curriculum, supporting classroom teachers in embedding technology into their subjects.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Assess, record, and report on pupils’ progress according to school policy.
- Create a stimulating and safe learning environment that promotes curiosity and digital creativity.
- Use formative and summative assessment to guide learning and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to cross-curricular projects involving ICT integration.
- Prepare pupils for relevant internal and external assessments.
- Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
- Communicate and meet with parents regularly promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep parents regularly informed of students’ progress while respecting the confidentiality of student-related information.
- Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors
Qualification
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with ICT specialization.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent international teaching qualification.
Experience
- Experience teaching ICT in a British Curriculum primary setting.
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Computing.
- Experience integrating technology across subjects.
- Experience managing ICT resources and supporting staff digital training.
- GEMS Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of its students and staff.
- A UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is a pre-requisite for all appointments.
