Primary Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems including chillers, rooftop units, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, and related controls.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues and extend equipment life.
- Conduct system start-ups, commissioning, and performance testing to ensure proper operation.
- Install replacement parts, motors, compressors, belts, filters, and other components as required.
- Utilize building automation and control systems to monitor, adjust, and optimize system performance.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls; provide accurate assessments and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed service records including work performed, parts used, and system performance.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, recommendations, and options for repairs or upgrades.
- Collaborate with project managers, coordinators, and fellow technicians to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Uphold all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA standards during field work.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience (commercial/industrial preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, and equipment troubleshooting.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to interact effectively with clients and coworkers.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC trade school preferred.
