HVAC engineer

Role objective

Maintenance duties

• Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems and mechanical equipment in buildings and facilities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, AHUs, FCUs, FAHUs, DX units, split AC systems, and indoor and outdoor units.
• Maintain cooling towers, chilled-water and condenser-water systems, and primary, secondary, condenser-water, and makeup pumps.
• Check equipment for unusual noise, vibration, water or air leaks, cooling issues, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Diagnose faults and repair or replace relevant HVAC components, including filters, belts, bearings, motors, fans, valves, dampers, and thermostats.
• Check electrical connections, contactors, capacitors, sensors, and control systems when troubleshooting equipment.
• Monitor BMS alarms and HVAC operating parameters where applicable.
• Conduct scheduled inspections, respond to breakdown calls and emergency requests, and report major faults to a supervisor or maintenance manager.
• Keep maintenance reports, checklists, equipment records, and work orders; coordinate with technicians, supervisors, and MEP teams.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures and use tools and testing instruments safely.
• Support HVAC installation, testing, commissioning, and performance checks when required.
• Maintain required indoor temperature and air quality, support efficient operation, and provide timely maintenance service.

Technical skills

• Chiller, AHU, FCU, FAHU, DX unit, and split AC maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Cooling tower, chilled-water, condenser-water, and pump maintenance.
• HVAC fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
• BMS monitoring, basic HVAC controls, sensors, thermostats, motors, fans, bearings, belts, filters, and valves.

Experience and language

• Six years of HVAC experience is required.
• Six years of facilities-maintenance experience is required.
• Six years of facilities-management experience is preferred.
