Job responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot HV systems and substation equipment at utility-scale solar PV plants.
- Perform O&M on transformers, 400 kV GIS/AIS switchgear, circuit breakers, disconnectors, CTs/PTs, protection relays, and auxiliary systems.
- Carry out HV switching, shutdowns and energization, equipment isolation, and PTW activities under project and utility safety rules.
- Perform preventive maintenance, periodic testing, fault diagnosis, incident investigations, and defect rectification.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical reports.
- Coordinate with the grid utility and stakeholders on operations, outage planning, energization, fault rectification, and technical matters.
- Implement electrical safety rules, LOTO, risk assessments, and site HSE requirements.
Job requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of hands-on HV substation O&M experience, including field operations and equipment maintenance.
- Good knowledge of major HV substation equipment, primary systems, secondary protection systems, and O&M procedures.
- Familiarity with HV switching, isolation, earthing, LOTO, PTW, and electrical safety management.
- Good troubleshooting, field problem-solving, technical reporting, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Good command of English for technical documentation, reports, and multicultural teamwork.
- UAE or GCC experience is preferred.
- Relevant HV operating authorization, Competent Person qualification, or recognized electrical safety certification is preferred.
- Experience in O&M of utility-scale solar PV plants, power plants, substations, or transmission and distribution projects is preferred.
