• The project:
• This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia.
• This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.
• The HSW environment manager will lead the oversight, governance, and assurance of waste management operations across the programme, ensuring full compliance with Saudi environmental regulations, and Vision 2030 sustainability commitments.
• The role acts as a key interface between the client, waste service providers, regulators, and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient waste operations.
• You’ll be responsible for:
• Ensure all waste management activities comply with the program's waste acceptance guidelines and waste handling procedures.
• Monitor waste segregation, routing, vehicle movements, and delivery to authorised disposal or treatment facilities.
• Verify correct use of equipment, safe loading/unloading practices, and compliance with transport and driving standards.
• Enforce adherence to the program's governance, reporting, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Confirm waste service providers maintain valid MWAN permits (hazardous and non-hazardous) and all required NCEC environmental approvals.
• Validate end-to-end compliance with waste manifests and MWAN E-manifest systems.
• Ensure all waste management personnel are trained, competent, and compliant with HSE standards.
• Monitor environmental logs, site compliance, and provider engagement with regulators for permit renewals or updates.
• Oversee accurate capture of waste volumes, streams, manifests, and provider performance data.
• Contribute to operational, regulatory, and ESG reporting for internal governance forums and external stakeholders.
• Work closely with logistics, district leads, utilities, HSE, environmental compliance, and sustainability teams.
• Act as the primary coordination point between the client and waste service providers to resolve operational issues efficiently.
• You’ll need to have:
• A degree in environmental management, HSE, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing waste or environmental operations on large-scale construction or infrastructure programmes.
• Strong working knowledge of Saudi environmental regulations, MWAN, NCEC permitting, and manifest systems.
• Demonstrable experience in HSE compliance, contractor assurance, and operational audits.
• Excellent stakeholder management and reporting capability within complex, multi-interface environments.
• Experience working on giga projects or large mixed-use developments in KSA preferred.
