Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree plus NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma plus KAWADER (Professional)
• 5-7 years of experience working in construction or mining sites
• Occupational Safety and Health Professional Certificate

Primary Functions

• Fatality Prevention: 100% commitment to zero serious injuries and fatalities; ensure comprehensive motor vehicle safety program; enforce cardinal rules; ensure comprehensive risk assessments.
• Injury Prevention: Enforce two minutes for my safety and STOP work authority; ensure documented toolbox talks program; promote Restricted Duty / Return to Work programs; review QHSSE programs and trends.
• Safety Culture: Promote safe behaviors with positive recognition; use zero tolerance and discipline; promote communication of near hits; ensure new hire induction; conduct 6 STBTs per year; coordinate safety campaign; perform at least 2 HSE inspections per month; ensure minimum QHSSE training hours.
• Safety Management: Demonstrate commitment to BV HSSE policies; lead development of project safety program; provide technical guidance; contribute to QHSSE plans; promote safety performance; participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis; implement corrective actions; maintain contrac
• Performance Management: Identify local high-risk activities; disseminate best practices; ensure PPE is correctly identified and maintained; lead internal and external audits; introduce incident risk management tools; increase awareness of costs and risks; monitor safety procedures in field; develop
• Environment: Ensure quarterly reporting on Green Hub; analyze environmental data and define improvement areas; ensure deployment of Eco-efficiency policy.

Technical Expertise

• HSE: Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures; ability to conduct safety inspections; skill in accident investigation and root cause analysis; knowledge of risk assessment; skill in training and educating employees; excellent communication skills.

Business Requirements

• Excellent IT skills
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Familiar with all aspects of Construction Safety and possessing specialist knowledge in one or two areas (e.g., excavations, scaffolding, lifting, etc.)
• Being a good team player, good communication and interpersonal skills
• Physically fit and able to spend a large proportion of the day on site
• Ability to work in a multifaceted / multinational organizational matrix with a variety of working relationships
• Capability to understand local and customer issues and to deliver tangible solutions

Training

• First aid, fire prevention, firefighting, risk assessment, risk management, incident investigation, root cause analysis, IOSH managing safely, NEBOSH IGC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 17020.
