Position Summary

Responsible for assisting the QHSES Manager by ensuring that all sites, facilities and services are safe in terms of HSE standards and aimed at legal compliance, continual improvement and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

· Daily inspection and reporting of sites including environment issues to the HSE Manager Attending emergency incidents including: fires, road accidents, floods, spillages of dangerous substances, rescuing trapped people etc and assisting the injured for further treatments

· Conducting tool box talks to all the employees of different departments to prevent any unsafe acts

· Minimising distress and suffering, including giving first aid before ambulance crews arrive;

· Ensure PPE to be worn by the staffs as per the nature of work and maintain the PPE stock register

· Safeguarding their own and other people's personal safety at all times;

· Responding quickly to unforeseen circumstances as they arise;

· Cleaning up and checking the site after dealing with an incident;

· Inspection of fire alarms, detectors and control panel and rectification of any defect to keep in working condition

· Coordinate and implement all the safety related procedures

· Taking time to become familiar with camp areas, roads and buildings around their own and nearby fire stations in order to respond to emergency calls with the utmost speed and efficiency;

· Inspecting and maintaining the firefighting equipment’s, assisting in the testing of fire hydrants and checking emergency water supplies;

· Undertaking drills and physical training and taking part in training on techniques, use of equipment and related matters;

· Maintaining the level of physical fitness necessary to carry out all the duties of a fire-fighter;

· Assessing situations quickly and deciding on the best course of action;

· Writing full incident reports.

Position Requirements

· 3 to 5 years relevant experience in a similar position in UAE, preferably in Abu Dhabi.

· Strong knowledge of QHSES laws and regulations in Abu Dhabi.

· OSHAD practitioner is preferred.

· Experience in both FM and construction industries.

· NEBOSH IGC is preferred.

· Auditor certificate in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is preferred.

· Certified first aider is preferred.
