HSE Engineer (Buildings - Site Supervision)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review HSE plans, risk assessments, procedures, and audit plans.
• Conduct audits and inspections and investigate incidents under OHSAS 18001, OSHAD, and applicable international and local requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies and monitor compliance with HSE rules and legislation.
• Manage work to achieve quality installations within performance, cost, schedule, and agreement requirements.
• Review and approve project HSE deliverables and monitor construction against HSE plans and procedures.
• Carry out safety tours, hazard identification, audits, personal engagement, and participation in HSE meetings.
• Direct hazard and risk assessments, develop risk-reduction tools, and participate in or review formal safety assessments.
• Review HSE plans, procedures, method statements, risk assessments, and related documentation for compliance.
• Issue improvement or prohibition notices, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to closeout.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 12 years of construction HSE experience with consultant firms in the UAE and Middle East.
• Level 06 Diploma or above in Occupational Safety and Health.
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification and valid ADOSH OSH Practitioner registration.
• Employer experience letters are mandatory evidence of HSE work experience.
• Experience in testing and commissioning.
• Able to manage a heavy workload, pay close attention to detail, and work autonomously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Excellent computer and communication skills; customer-focused approach.
• Able to coordinate complex tasks, take professional responsibility, and work with all levels of management.
