Hs&E Lead

to join our team!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Advise and support Project and Program Management teams in implementing and maintaining Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) programs in accordance with corporate, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance to project personnel to ensure compliance with Parsons’ Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program (ESHARP) management system, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct audits of projects and worksites to verify compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Perform site inspections to identify hazards and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions to eliminate or mitigate risk.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive audit reports, inspection reports, and safety performance assessments.
  • Implement occupational injury reporting, incident management, and investigation processes in accordance with company procedures.
  • Lead incident investigations and conduct root cause analyses using recognized and defensible methodologies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, contractors, and workforce personnel to develop and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Prepare investigation reports and communicate lessons learned to improve overall safety performance.
  • Analyze safety trends, audit findings, inspection results, and incident data to identify improvement opportunities and support decision-making.
  • Represent Parsons during regulatory inspections, client reviews, and external safety audits.
  • Act as the SH&E representative on project sites and support the SH&E Manager or Director as required.
  • Promote active participation in safety initiatives and encourage a strong safety culture across project teams.
  • Support risk assessments and provide SH&E expertise during work planning and execution activities.
  • Assist with new employee orientations and onboarding programs.
  • Deliver health, safety, and environmental training and awareness sessions in accordance with regulatory and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate SH&E records, training logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and workforce engagement activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior Safety Specialists and site personnel.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE/SH&E) roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of health and safety regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures.
  • Strong understanding of industry safety standards and best practices, including ANSI, NFPA, and related standards.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Experience supporting risk assessments and implementing corrective and preventive action programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, coach, and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and high-risk project environments.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP), Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience on major infrastructure, transportation, rail, or construction projects.
  • Knowledge of risk management systems and occupational safety management frameworks.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to safety professionals within large-scale project environments.
