Overview

To oversee and support the day-to-day operations of the HR department of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) in Talent Management including the manpower planning, professional development, ensuring performance gaps are identified and addressed as well as support of all strategic initiatives to develop talent and build a sustainable workforce at SUAD.

Talent Strategy, Workforce Planning & Talent Mapping

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated talent strategies and workforce planning frameworks, ensuring clear visibility of current capabilities, future needs, talent risks, and enabling informed workforce decisions.

Performance, Talent & Succession Management

  • Oversee performance and talent management frameworks, including calibration, talent reviews, and succession planning, to ensure consistent standards and a strong pipeline of high-potential talent for critical roles.

Learning & Development Strategy and Budget Management

  • Define and implement the L&D strategy, design capability-building initiatives and career pathways, and manage the L&D budget to ensure effective allocation and measurable ROI.

Employee Engagement, Retention & Culture

  • Drive employee engagement and retention strategies, including surveys and action planning, while strengthening organizational culture and improving employee experience.

Talent Governance, Policy & Compliance

  • Oversee the development and implementation of talent policies and frameworks, ensuring compliance with legislation and governance standards while promoting consistency and accountability.

Strategic Workforce Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead data-driven workforce insights and reporting using analytics, benchmarking, and feedback to support decision-making and continuous improvement across the talent lifecycle.

Training & Development

  • Develop and monitor annual training plans.
  • propose career growth initiatives.
  • Maintain external training partnerships.
  • Stay updated on HR trends in planning and development.

HR Calendar & Reporting

  • Oversee key HR activities and HR calendar planning.
  • Ensure timely execution of HR events and accurate departmental reporting in line with university requirements and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience within Human Resources with a strong focus on talent management, performance, and organisational capability development.

Job-Specific Skills

  • Strong expertise in talent management, performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement learning and development strategies with measurable impact.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience in talent analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Solid knowledge of HR best practices, policy development, and applicable labour laws.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, influencing senior stakeholders and driving organisational outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organisation.
  • Languages: English and Arabic are mandatory. French is an added value
