Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on HR Manager with a proven track record in the Food & Beverage or Hospitality industry to lead our people strategy.

This role is not a desk job; it requires a leader who thrives on the operations floor, understands the pace of a high-volume kitchen, and can balance employee advocacy with business needs.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, and compliance, specifically within a unionized or high-turnover environment.

You will be responsible for fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and engagement to ensure our team delivers an unforgettable guest experience.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

You will manage the full-cycle recruitment process for all F&B roles, from Line Cooks and Servers to Sous Chefs and Restaurant Managers.

This includes developing innovative sourcing strategies to combat high turnover rates, such as job fairs, culinary school partnerships, and social media campaigns.

You will implement a "Day 1" onboarding program that accelerates cultural immersion and reduces early attrition, while ensuring all pre-employment requirements—including Food Handler Cards, Alcohol Certifications, and Background Checks—are verified prior to start.

Employee Relations & Engagement

You will serve as the primary point of contact for all employee grievances, investigations, and disciplinary actions.

Proactively walking the floor during peak hours is essential to maintain a visible presence and build trust with operational staff.

You will drive engagement initiatives tailored to shift workers, such as employee of the month programs, "family meal" quality improvements, and shift swap systems.

Managing the exit interview process and analyzing data to recommend retention strategies also falls under your purview.

Compliance & Labor Law

You will ensure strict adherence to Federal, State, and Local labor laws, specifically regarding overtime, minor workers, and break policies.

This includes managing relationships with Labor Unions where applicable, negotiating agreements, and handling grievances.

You will maintain accurate I-9, E-Verify, and personnel files in compliance with audit standards, while overseeing Workers' Compensation claims and coordinating return-to-work programs for injured staff.

Performance Management & Training

Coaching department heads on progressive discipline, performance reviews, and effective communication is a key aspect of this role.

You will coordinate mandatory training sessions, including Sexual Harassment Prevention, OSHA/Safety protocols, and Food Safety (ServSafe).

Identifying high-potential employees and creating development plans to build a pipeline for future supervisory roles will be critical to long-term succession planning.

Payroll & Compensation

You will oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy in tips, overtime, and shift differentials.

Conducting compensation benchmarking will help ensure we remain competitive in the local F&B market, and you will manage the attendance/points system alongside time-off requests.

Experience

You bring a minimum of five years of Human Resources experience, with at least three years specifically in the Restaurant, Hotel, or Hospitality industry.

Proven experience managing high-volume recruitment—fifty or more hourly hires annually—is essential, and experience in a unionized environment is highly preferred.

Education

A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or Hospitality Management is preferred, and HR Certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is a strong plus.

Pay: QAR10,000.00 - QAR12,000.00 per day
