The Housekeeping Room Attendant cleans guest rooms and assigned areas while helping deliver memorable guest experiences.
Room cleaning and preparation
- Prepare rooms for cleaning; dust and polish furniture, vacuum carpets, and clean bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, and corridors.
- Clean bathroom mirrors, sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, curtains, and floors; remove dirt, soap buildup, and hair.
- Remove dirty linen and terry, make beds with clean linen, replace laundry bags, and inspect bathrobes.
- Replenish guest supplies, bathroom amenities, complimentary water, and other items according to operational standards.
- Inspect rooms, arrange furniture and room items to the expected layout, and update room status on the assignment sheet.
- Perform rotation cleaning such as carpet steaming and deep cleaning; return and restock the cart after the shift.
Guest service and security
- Respond promptly to guest calls, requests, and complaints; maintain positive guest relations and work toward guest satisfaction.
- Deliver and retrieve items loaned to guests, provide turndown service when required, and protect guest privacy and room security.
Role expectations
- Follow hotel standard operating procedures and maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned areas.
- Take responsibility for the work area and hotel property, and perform other duties reasonably required by management.
