Westbrook Public School High School Homebound Tutor Hourly Rate: In accordance with the WEA Contract Hours per week: Up to 10 hours per week Start Date: As soon as possible Summary : The Homebound Tutor provides individualized instruction to students who are unable to attend school in person. The tutor plans and delivers lessons, carries out behavioral plans, and supports individualized education programs (IEPs) to ensure continuous academic growth and development.

Coordinate and collaborate with the student’s general education teachers to ensure consistency with instruction and assignments.

Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with student needs and teacher direction.

Implement goals, objectives, and behavioral plans as outlined in students' IEPs under the supervision of certified teachers.

Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and evaluate learner outcomes.

Provide updates and progress data for Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings.

Establish a supportive, caring, and professional learning environment focused on student growth.

Assist with physical, medical, or mobility needs as appropriate to the assignment (e.g., toileting, feeding, loading/unloading vehicles, or trained lifting/restraint procedures).

Supervise students in various settings as needed.

Maintain student confidentiality and high ethical standards at all times.

Maintains accurate records of student attendance, instruction logs, and hours worked for district administrative reporting.

Work effectively both independently and collaboratively with the broader educational team.

Attend scheduled staff meetings and participate in role-appropriate professional training.

Operate classroom technology, standard office equipment, and instructional software proficiently.

Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

Perform other delegated duties as assigned by district administrators or supervising teachers.
