About This Role

Job Summary

The Office Boy for a home office is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the home office environment.

This role involves a variety of tasks, including administrative support, cleaning, and running errands to support the employer's professional and personal activities within the home office setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • **Home Office Maintenance:**
  • Keep the home office and surrounding areas clean and tidy, including workstations and common areas.
  • Dust and polish office furniture and equipment.
  • Ensure trash bins are emptied and waste is disposed of appropriately.
  • **Support Services:**
  • Serve beverages and refreshments to the employer and guests.
  • Prepare and serve tea, coffee, and snacks as required.
  • Run errands, such as purchasing office supplies, groceries, and handling deliveries.
  • **Administrative Assistance:**
  • Assist with photocopying, scanning, and printing documents as needed.
  • Manage the distribution of incoming mail and packages.
  • Deliver and collect documents as instructed.
  • **Meeting Room Preparation:**
  • Set up the home office meeting area, including arranging furniture and equipment.
  • Ensure the meeting area is stocked with necessary supplies and refreshments.
  • Assist in organizing and setting up for meetings and small events.
  • **Supply Management:**
  • Monitor and restock office supplies and pantry items.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and ensure timely reordering.
  • **Miscellaneous Tasks:**
  • Perform simple clerical tasks as required by the employer.
  • Provide general support to visitors and family members as needed.
  • Assist with light household chores as needed, such as watering plants or minor maintenance tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the employer.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment (e.g., photocopiers, printers, etc.).
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Polite and courteous demeanor.

Working Conditions

  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours occasionally, based on the employer's needs.
  • Work is typically performed in a residential home office environment.
