Overview
Design and implement inquiry-based learning experiences, in accordance with the history and geography curriculum, and encourage critical thinking.
Facilitating research and project work to enhance students' understanding and develop their knowledge.
Collaborating with other teachers in the Program to ensure interdisciplinary links and coherence between subjects.
Supporting students in their preparation for internal assessments, including the internal assessment (IA) component.
Engage students in discussions about ethical considerations.
To foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, valuing diversity and encouraging respect and understanding among students.
Develop a communicative approach with students, while maintaining open communication with parents.
To propose innovative educational projects.
To defend the educational values of the institution.
Working collaboratively with colleagues to promote a consistent and supportive learning environment, sharing best practices and contributing to the overall success of the institution.
Keeping informed about developments in the field of education, participating in workshops and actively engaging in professional development opportunities to continually improve one's teaching skills.
Effectively manage the classroom, maintain open communication with parents, and use various teaching practices, including differentiated instruction.
Prepare and deliver courses in accordance with the curriculum, respecting the recommendations of the KHDA
Knowledge of current trends and developments in history and geography teaching.
Ability to effectively integrate technology into teaching and learning activities, including the use of digital resources and online platforms to support student learning.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and other members of the school community.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflection to continuously improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
Adaptability and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of students and the changing circumstances of the educational environment.
Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with students and colleagues in an English-language teaching environment.
Understanding of the Program's evaluation principles, including the use of criteria-based evaluation and evaluation criteria.
