Ensure stability, performance, and availability of Mainframe systems by troubleshooting issues, implementing solutions, and collaborating with cross functional teams
Technologies span mainframe, midrange, desktop, server, network data, voice, messaging, web, and database
Provide support, proactive system health management, test data management and maintenance for mainframe systems, including z/OS, JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS and VSAM
Monitor Mainframe performance and capacity utilization proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal system performance and high availability
Collaborate with application developers, system programmers, and other IT teams to diagnose and resolve complex application or environment issues
Ability to think outside of the box to simplify the current environment for better manageability and support
Actively participate and implement architectural changes, design and implementation of solutions to meet enterprise goals
Flexibility to adopt a continuous learning mindset and flex to cover a diverse set of technology needs and professional development aspects
Continuously drive improvement and optimization through retrospectives and stakeholder feedback
Proactively identify and develop training plans for knowledge gaps (technical or business-related) that limit team effectiveness
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including system diagrams, standard operating procedures and trouble shooting guides
Implement and perform the use of effective change, incident, and problem management governance policies across all supported environments
Should have an automation first and continuous improvement mindset

Strong Knowledge in JCL and Ability to modify the jobs as per request
Strong Knowledge in VSAM,IDCAMS and SORT utilities
CICS Monitoring & management
Ability to analysis the CICS abends and handle the CICS file management
Handling and driving the MML line
Mainframe Batch Monitoring, Late Job Analysis & Abend fixing
Mainframe Job Scheduling - CA7 Scheduler
DB2 Monitoring & management
DB2 Tables Data refresh from Prod & taking backup for various Non-production environments
Strong Knowledge in SQL abends
Ability to replicate the Prod jobs in various Non-production environments
Handling Contention & Space issues
Handling JCL Overrides
Manual Triggering of Ad-hoc Jobs
Creation of VSAM and Non-VSAM dataset
FTP’ing the DSN between different LPARS
Ad-hoc Changes to existing Batch Schedules
Execute & Monitor automated Refresh Task for various Non-prod environments
Knowledge on SQL Queries
Knowledge on Teradata DB
Handling/Maintaining the DASD pool within the threshold level
Perform Application Checkouts for various Non-prod environments
L1 Support for Infrastructure Incidents
Performing pre-defined tasks & service requests
CPU, SPOOL & Storage usage Monitoring
Required Skills:
- Experience with mainframe utilities and tools used for monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning
- Experience with IW Teradata platform
- Knowledge of Mainframes security principles, access controls, and compliance requirements (e,g: HIPAA, PHI, IHI) to ensure system integrity and data protection
- Technical skills to craft and execute your own programs and initiatives
- Experience with the microservices hosted on cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Openshift, etc)
- Knowledge of SDLC processes, including agile methodologies (Scrum & Kanban).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Flexibility to participate and respond to critical Incidents outside of regular business hours
- Strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
- Understanding of ITIL Processes to implement change, resolve incidents and implement preventative measures
- Required Experience & Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information technology or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to openly discuss solution proposals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Have experience with Mainframe technologies such as z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, MQ, CA7, REXX and DB2 Utilities
- Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in HealthCare business
- Understanding of Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server, PostgresSQL and distributed technologies such as API/Entity flow
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, NewRelic, etc and different monitoring aspects
- Understanding Queue/Messaging services
- Location & Hours of Work
- Full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with rotational shifts to ensure seamless coverage and expected overlap with US business hours.
- Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India in a hybrid working model (3 days WFO and 2 days WFH)
