Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site High School Science Teacher role based in Houston, TX.

The High School Science Teacher will design and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with district curriculum and state standards, with potential focus areas including Physics and Environmental Science.

Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching daily classes, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate grade and attendance records.

The teacher will create an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and scientific literacy.

Additional duties include communicating regularly with families and colleagues, participating in professional learning communities, collaborating on curriculum development, and contributing to campus activities and school improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Ability to design effective Lesson Planning and contribute to Curriculum Development that align with state and district standards.
  • Science (composite)certification to teach high school level courses-Biology, Chemistry, Physics.
  • Strong Communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues in a clear, respectful, and culturally responsive manner..
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom, differentiate instruction, and support diverse learners, including multilingual learners and students with varying needs.
  • Experience using data and assessments to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Comfort with educational technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and student engagement.
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth, collaboration, and equity-focused teaching practices.
