Help Desk Technician

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Support information systems hardware, software, networks, and operating systems; escalate requests not resolved within OLA/SLA guidelines.
• Administer accounts, files, and account policies.
• Maintain the helpdesk database and provide desktop deployment and lifecycle services.
• Prepare technical procedures and manage configuration and assets.
• Handle incident and change management and perform preventive maintenance on desktop and peripheral equipment.
• Contribute to the departmental strategic plan and complete other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Information Technology degree or diploma required.
• At least 2 years of progressive Information Systems experience including applications, networking, operations, and telecommunications.
• Strong verbal and written communication, business analysis, problem solving, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office required.
• At least 1 year of computer hardware and peripheral troubleshooting and support skills required.
• Industry-standard certifications such as MCP/A+, LAN knowledge, and technical writing/documentation skills are preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, meet the position's physical demands, and maintain a satisfactory employment and attendance record.

Status and schedule

• Temporary full-time position for approximately 18 months.
• Monday to Friday, 7.5-hour day shifts; hours may change based on operational needs.

Compensation

• Hourly salary range is $32.116 to $37.020.
